The City of Ponderay is located at the intersection of two scenic by-ways, a few miles north of Sandpoint and also the gateway to the North Rocky Mountains and Schweitzer Mountain Ski Resort, which is just 10 miles north and approximately 6,400 feet. Here you can find skiing, snowboarding, and other winter sports activities. In spring and summer you can enjoy many hiking and biking trails along with the local hunting and fishing in and near Lake Pend Oreille.
