The Village of Slocan City is located on Highway 6 at the southern end of Slocan Lake and Valhalla Provincial Park, 30 km (19 mi) south of New Denver. Slocan was a booming silver town back in the 1890s, but today it serves as gateway to Valhalla Provincial Park.
